An unknown Cival War soldier, who died in
November, 1863 is buried in the Northwest Section of the Cemetery. Nations have
developed the practice of having a symbolic Tomb of the Unknown Soldier that
represents the war grave of those unidentified soldiers. The "Tomb of Unknowns"
located at Arlington Cemetery is the the most visable example in the
United States because the current President of the United States places a
wreath on the grave ever year.
